The Weekly Peanut, Issue 124
Trying to look at houses with a toddler is an adventure. Mostly I'd not recommend it from an efficiency standpoint, since every time you try to have a conversation with your realtor your toddler will start screaming over you to be the center of attention again. However without the kid, you might miss out on little gems like this...
Daphne, What are those? [Kumquats??]
D: EGGS!! LITTLE EGGS!
Oh wow. What kind of animal do you think is going to come out of those eggs?
D: Hmm... A baby lion.
BTW, to the owners of the house we looked at in the gated community in Casselberry: YOU'RE WELCOME. My kid cleaned your windows and walls.
Speaking of house hunting, we've been having a bit of a rocky week with potty training. D will refuse refuse REFUSE to go to the bathroom, then announce "I pee myself!!" before running to the toilet after leaking a little in her undies. We were checking out an open house this weekend when I hear my kid yell at me from a few rooms away "MOMMY I PEE MYSELF!" I go to her. She's standing in the bathroom already. Alright, let's get you onto the toilet so you can finish and I can change your underwear and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD WHY IS THERE A GIANT PUDDLE OF PEE ON THE FLOOR?! Not a few drops in her underwear, she has unleashed a tidal wave. I scramble to wipe up the pee with the toilet paper and get it into the toilet. Meanwhile this is the one day that I don't have spare clothes for her, of course. We ran out of that house so fast. Mortified.
Daphne says Fiona is her best friend.
Poor Ludo. On Saturday Grandpa Bobo was kind enough to come over and spend the day with the kid so hubby and I could do some more efficient house hunting.
Nope. Didn't find our house. So now I'm trying not to panic as we scramble to find a short term lease while also trying to get moved out of the house. SERENITY NOW.
Daphne still loves spaghetti at Stefano's.
...Eggs at Se7en bites...
And (after a ridiculous fight just to get her to try it) Watermelon.
So yeah, life is more than a little crazy right now around our house. We'll be taking a brief break from house stuff to celebrate a very special day next week. And house hunting. OY.
