The Weekly Peanut, Issue 66 Part 2
... the saga continues!
All that excitement on Wednesday, but a relatively quiet rest of the week (come on, I can't keep up with that kind of pace every day). Besides, we had a jam-packed weekend ahead of us.
I've mentioned it on Facebook, but I have full on Disney Princess obsession right now (I know, surprise surprise). Through Zulily and Amazon, I've ordered D princess costumes for all the top 6 (cheap ones! not the ones that cost $$$$$). I figure, if she has options, maybe she'll favor more than one and I can not totally burn out on having the same single movie over and over? Maybe? I'd shown D her the first two dresses to arrive, and while she loved touching them and pointing at the little character cameos on the chest, she hadn't shown much interest in wearing one yet. Finally on Saturday morning, she went to her closet and started tugging on her Merida costume (which is giant, a 4-6X size). D, would you like to wear that? She nodded. So we pulled it on over her clothes and I used some clips to keep the hem from dragging on the ground. She was just tickled, dancing in circles all over the living room. I had to practically bribe her into letting me take it off later so we could go to lunch.
Saturday morning Grandpa Bobo came for a visit. D recognized him right away and was all about the hugs. After the menfolk did manly things (assembling a charcoal grill Ian won at work) we headed out to try The Coop for lunch (the 4Rivers venture).
I'd been once before with a coworker and thought it was hit and miss. I think I ordered better this time because most of the food was really good. D blew me away by knocking out almost my entire side of mac & cheese AND cornbread (yes, carb queen). HOLY MOLY another growth spurt?? Indeed, I just had to move D up to size six shoes, and with that I also purged what was left of 12 and 18 month clothes: she is firmly in 24 month/2T. I swear she got 2 inches taller overnight.
Daphne is also insistent on using grown up utensils. So keen is she on adult forks and spoons that she will crawl into our laps while we're trying to eat dinner and attempt to feed us with our own forks.
Sunday was one of our final weekends before black out dates, and I was on a mission to complete my FINAL 6 PRINCESSES PICTURE PROJECT! To Epcot, I say!
We kicked off the morning with Spaceship Earth. Then D conned me into buying her a MagicBand of her own. I also found MagicBandits for some of my favorite villains FINALLY I can add pieces of flare!
Living with the Land and the Seas (NEMO! NEMO! NEMO!) came next, by then the first window to go meet Mulan in China was open. There was a small line, but D was pretty excited as soon as she saw Mulan. D went straight in for the hugs, of course.
Mulan took a nice long time to talk to D. About dumplings and Mushu. It was pretty cute. D had stars in her eyes. I'll have you know that every night since then D has tried to get us to watch Mulan.
In the spirit of "let's do new things" Ian dragged us to Ellen's Energy Adventure. When they locked us in and told us we wouldn't be allowed to go anywhere for the next, like, 40 minutes we almost panicked, thinking D wouldn't go for it. She did. We were bored to tears, but she loved it. Followed that up by trying out The Reef restaurant. D proceeded to down THE ENTIRE GIGANTIC SERVING OF SHELLS AND CHEESE. No, really.
Daphne WAS kind enough to share her cupcake with Daddy, though.
The beginning of the week marked a couple of major Daphne Disney shipments from Zulily and JCPenney clearance. D is totally stocked on Disney PJs and some new Princess shirts. D also has costumes for all of the top 6 princesses. I know. I'm ridiculous. If you'd told me 7 months pregnant that this is where I'd be 2 years from now I would not have believed you.
