Raising a kid and going to WDW. A lot.

It's a very poorly kept secret that Stitch might be my favorite character to meet at Magic Kingdom; he's funny and it's highly personalized considering he doesn't talk. Thankfully, D's a big fan of Stitch, too. Maybe she senses a kindred spirit of destruction. We just never seem to get lucky with catching him. When we arrived in Tomorrowland we'd thought we'd be taking advantage of the short lines for Space Ranger Spin, but when I saw that Stitch was out? I eagerly dipped into my camera bag of prints and scrambled into line.

We watched and giggled as he pretended to pick his earwax with the pen of the girl in front of us. Fine Stitch form, indeed. D totally understands the present-giving procedure now, and she asks me for a photo even when we go see characters for whom I don't have one available.

D was getting excited, tugging on my hand, not-so-patiently waiting for the family to clear out. At last Stitch crouched down and I unleashed the hound. She charged him, frantically waving the ribbon-bedecked photo.

Then she surprised me: rather than insisting on handing over the photo first, she opted for the hug.  I don't blame her, Stitch is super huggable.

Stitch took a moment to examine his gift. I was pretty much expecting him to pretend to drool on it or pick his ear, but he clutched it tenderly just like every other character with whom we've had one of these moments.

I'm still trying to figure out why my kid has Justin Bieber hair in that photo. D was feeling extra generous, because after a heartfelt "Thank you, Stitch!" he got a big smacker on the nose.

I honestly didn't have high hopes for having a PTY moment with Merida.  We've only met her once, and every time since the line has been beyond beastly. I was planning to just do a disappointing drive by on our way to Fairytale Hall, imagine my surprise when there was NO LINE. That, coupled with the fact that D finally chose to wear her Merida dress for the first time... meant to be. Fate, I say!

"For me?" Nod. Forgive me, I'm not sure how to type a Scottish accent. "Ach, loooook, Ah haff a wee pressennt!" But, in all seriousness, Merida is the cutest thing ever.

EVER.

D tried to give Merida a kiss, but dat hair...

So an extra hug was in order.

We were finally able to have our first PTY exchange with the fair hostess of the castle.

This time D waited until after their required dramatic walk to the carpet to hand over the goods.

D's working on adding a "Mewwy Cwisshmisss" with her Thank You speech.

The last stop on our PTY tour was with the Big Man himself.  I was kinda bummed we didn't get talking Mickey, but D never seems to care either way.

Thus concludes another week on our journey of gratitude! We're hoping for another run this weekend, possibly even a park-hopper, so stay tuned ;)
