Disney Villain Countdown: 40/40
**Spoiler Alert! Some villains are revealed in plot twists, so if you haven't seen all the movies...**
He's a little old man with a paunch who can't manage to outwit HOUSECATS. He's not scary, he's not intimidating, he's a wimp, a weenie of the first degree. Edgar is paraded from one indignation to the next; you almost feel sorry for him. Edgar receives the lowest score in this category of any candidate.
We can't blame Edgar too much. The entire visual style of The Aristocats is, literally, sketchy. No fun colors, a balding pate, knobby knees, and a gut. My two-year-old could knock him out. He also is subjected to the indignity of several minutes in his old man underwear. Edgar receives the lowest score of any candidate in this category, too.
Wit & Quotability
At last Edgar finds a category when he isn't the VERY bottom of the barrel. Close to the bottom, but not the worst. His quotes aren't particularly great or memorable, but at least there are a couple.
Edgar has zero charisma. Most people I've spoken to who've seen The Aristocats have the following response, "Wait... there was a villain in that movie?" If that's not a testament to bottom-of-the-barrell scoring in this category, I don't know what is. He cries like a little baby, because he's SURPRISED that, as the butler, he wasn't awarded his Mistress' inheritance? Are you kidding??? He has little backstory, and his only motivation is money... so he's going to kill some house cats... yup.
None, neutral score awarded.
None really, neutral score awarded. The clip below includes him mumbling his way through his own version of "Rockabye" for a couple bars. It says something that the only decent scores a guy gets are those awarded by n/a default. Bottom of the barrel, indeed.
