Disney Villain Countdown: 26/40
**Spoiler Alert! Some villains are revealed in plot twists, so if you haven't seen all the movies...**
I, too, am outraged at the total lowball ranking of my beloved Prince John. When I first sorted the ranks, I said, "Surely, that can't be right!" But this category, my friends, no matter how I looked at it, utterly sunk this gem of a kitty into the middle of the pack. He's just not scary, or intimidating, in any way. The dude sucks his thumb! There's just no coming back from that...
Remarkably similar design to Shere Khan, the exaggerated jawline actually enhances the goofy factor of Prince John rather than taking away from the intimidation that Shere Khan needed. It's not a super high score, but it's a little better than his kitty compatriot.
Wit & Quotability
High marks. I quote Prince John at least once a week. I had to knock the score down just a little from the Wit side, however, since he's a dolt.
High scores again. Largely thanks to the exquisite vocal stylings of Peter Ustinov (the original Batiatus). The flamboyant exclamations, the thumb-sucking, the blanky, the interplay with his sidekicks, he's so deliciously goofy.
Another solid score for the kitty prince. Hiss is glorious. The Sheriff, though slightly less amusing, does nothing to detract from the score. The "chemistry" between Prince John and Hiss sets a glorious standard for all villains to come. Bravo.
Although Prince John does not sing himself per sé, there is a song ABOUT him, so I awarded 5 points over neutral
