Disney Villain Countdown: 34/40
**Spoiler Alert! Some villains are revealed in plot twists, so if you haven't seen all the movies...**
Fear / Intimidation Factor
Not a poor showing for Clayton. He's a big, ripped dude with a shotgun, and it's believable that he'd use it. He's a trained hunter. He's an egomaniac. Reasonably high score here.
The tricky thing with Clayton is that he's one of many Disney Villains that's a male human hunter type. A big burly dude with a firearm. There have been many, and Clayton doesn't have much to distinguish him from the rest. I do find Clayton's massive nostrils slightly hypnotic, and ... dude check that body... he's.... almost strangely attractive? Especially when being compared with the strangely misshapen Tarzan.
Wit & Quotability
Middling. It's not the bottom, because he says a few things worth remembering. Clayton is also willfully ignorant, which interferes with the Wit side of this score, if not the quotability.
This is where Clayton bombs. Maybe it's because he looks similar to other villains, maybe it's the overall forgettability of the film itself, but Clayton's low score is this category. It says something that the most memorable aspect of Clayton is that he has the dubious honor of what I consider to be one of THE MOST MACABRE villain death scenes. Seriously, it's dark, watch it if you dare.
None. There are other hunters in his crew but they don't really talk and we barely see them. Neutral.
No. Shucks. No Phil Collins villain song. I feel so deprived.
