**Spoiler Alert! Some villains are revealed in plot twists, so if you haven't seen all the movies...**

Hopper's gonna squish yo' ass

Fear/Intimidation Factor
Hopper's intimidation score impresses based on his ability to not only use his intelligence to cow his fellow grasshopper gang members, but in his power to bring an entire colony of ants under his power to harvest food for him EVERY YEAR when he's not even around to keep them on task.  Seriously... that is impressive.  His primary threat is also to squish his fellow insects American History X curb stomp style.  Ouch.

Character Design
A Bug's Life's animation may look a little dated by today's standards (it was one of Pixar's earliest offerings), but Hopper does not.  Pixar did such an amazing job anthropomorphizing the critters in this film, and Hopper is one of the absolute best.  His exoskeleton looks like body armor, the textures are rich and realistic, his face is curved into a menacing brow line.  Hopper is a feast for the eyes, despite being mostly mottled brown.

Wit & Quotability
Kevin Spacey was made to be a villain, and is probably largely to thank for Hopper's ability to rank higher than any other Pixar offering.  He's menacing, snarky, sarcastic, and impressive at almost every turn.

Memorability
There's something to be said that Hopper ends but being the highest Pixar villain on this countdown even though he comes from what many consider to be one of Pixar's weaker offerings (I think that's hogwash, I love this movie, but I acknowledge it is not the storytelling masterpiece that is Wall-E or Up).  Again, I think Spacey gets a lot of credit for what he brought to the table.  All that being said, this is not Hopper's best scoring category.

Sidekicks
One of the higher scores for this category anywhere on the countdown. Not only does Molt, Hopper's brother, add a rich level of humanity and foil to Hopper's story, he also provides wonderful comic relief.  The rest of the grasshopper gang is largely forgettable, but there's also the creepy evil Thumper (I call him "the Gimp" a lá Pulp Fiction).

Song
No. Come on. Kevin Spacey.  He could have at least hummed a few bars of Mack the Knife or something. NADA.
