The Weekly Peanut, Issue 233
We made some special treats to hand out in Launch Bay for the Jawas last day.
Uncle David was also in town to visit. We headed out to Studios after lunchtime.
D killed my accuracy score on Toy Story Midway Mania, but I still had the high score in the vehicle ;). After that we went straight to Launch Bay to get as much quality time as possible with our little Tattooine friends. Daphne immediately fell into a conversation with the first Jawa, trying to console the Jawa that surely they wouldn't be gone long, and that they'd come back to visit when Star Wars Land was complete.
D had a little photo shoot with this Jawa, too.
Jawas love phones, y'all. D tried to show them how to play the tsumtsum game, too. They were quite taken with the droids.
We ran into D's friend Caylin, and the girls had a rousing game of hide and seek with the Jawas and some of the Launch Bay cast members.
We'd managed to wait out some rain in Launch Bay, so I managed to talk D into venturing outside (but only when I let her promise the Jawas she'd be back again). We managed to catch a Jedi training (missed it last week, thanks storms), and I thought I recognized one of the Jedi and YAY our friend Denise came out when she got done with work and we got to see her for the first time in WAY TOO LONG.
You would never know from D's reaction that more than a year had passed with these two. D even got some tutoring on her Jedi skills. Denise surprised us by having her Jedi friends come out to say hi to us after the show.
The nicest Jedis in town, by the way (thanks for taking the pics, Denise).
We caught up with Maddie for a ride on Star Tours before one last visit to Launch Bay. D made a new friend who tore a page out of her own sketchbook and loaned her a marker so she could make a drawing for the Jawas.
She presented her drawing of a Jawa and a droid to the Jawas. She also made a drawing of Tattooine for the other Jawa.
Final hugs were exchanged before we ran out to watch the Galactic Spectacular. Please come back soon, Jawas.
I really like the Galactic Spectacular, although the projections and orientation of the fireworks do mean that a lot of spots have subpar visibility.
We headed home. Sunday we had a lazy day around the house with Uncle David.
Sunday evening we introduced Daphne to the Cloak & Blaster "geek pub." They were having a Harry Potter celebration, D dressed accordingly.
She loved playing Mario with dad while waiting for her food. And wandering around looking at all the stuff. She wants us to come back soon and play some of the giant assortment of board games.
Guys. Daphne starts Kindergarten next week. How. How did this happen??
