The Weekly Peanut, Issue 16
11 months? How did that happen? Holy toledo!
We went for our eye operation follow up last Friday. Looks like she might still have a little swelling so we're back on the drops for this week.
No big milestones to remark on developmentally. As long as we provide a steady stream of food, she's kind of fun at restaurants now. Other than the mess we have to clean up afterwards and the gratuitously large gratuity that we usually leave out of guilt. Grandpa Bobo came to visit Saturday morning and we all had a fun lunch at Hawkers.
My kid is an awesomely adventurous eater (ughh jinx jinx jinx) so far. She had tofu and veggies and slimy mushrooms and roast duck and she tackled them all with gusto. I now have to make it a point to remember to always bring a sippy cup and plate for her when we go out, otherwise we have to do the straw method...
Tedious, but it keeps her (and us) busy.
Daphne's favorite game is hide and go seek/tag. This consists of her toddling around the back of the La-Z-Boy, while a grown up sneaks up on her and goes HAH!, then she chases us back around. She could do this for HOURS. One time I Hah'd and she spooked, but then she laughed so hard she literally started rolling on the floor. That's me, Mommy Master Comedienne.
My mom came over Saturday evening to spend some time with the peanut (she's pretty adamant about NOT getting her picture taken... DEFINE IRONY). She stayed with the kid so the hubby and I could finally go see Star Trek. Let's not talk about that any more.
We're entering into a tough month. I've almost made it to the 1 year of BF, but it gets harder every week as I struggle to pump enough. I'm trying not to stress it since I have a decent freezer stash and WE'RE ALMOST THERE GOSHDARNIT! I've got a rough work schedule this month with evening lectures, so I'll be missing Peanut's bedtime on those nights.
I love this silly kid. Maybe she'll get fireworks for her birthday ;)
