The Weekly Peanut, Issue 17
On Monday when I was thinking about writing this issue, it was going to be very grumpy. I have an awkward (read: late) work schedule this month that is taking me away from my kid during bedtime (something I've only missed... twice?... since she was born), and it seems to be wearing on both of us. She's been grumpy, bratty, and wearing on my last nerve. Maybe Daphne sensed all this, and knew her reputation (on the web anyway) was at stake, so Tuesday night she turned it around and was pretty darned awesome. So Issue 17 won't be all grumpy.
I will say that there is one "person" that seems to be able to put Daphne into a good mood no matter what: Jackson. They wrestle, they hug, they hide toys from each other, and just seem to generally enjoy each others' company. I even caught them playing hide and go seek... with a box.
I think Daphne's going through a growth spurt (ahhh the excuses we parents give for why our child is acting like a turd). Really, though, she does seem bigger. Shoes that were fitting her great this weekend are looking like they are ready to be replaced. Daphne has quite the appetite still and continues to want to EAT ALL THE THINGS.
We had a pretty low-key weekend. We went to the Winter Park Farmer's market, had a tasty brunch at the Cask & Larder (where they broke out a high chair for the first time... we've been there with her before and no high chair!! WTF?), we went to Costco... normal weekend events.
We're pretty excited for a fun-filled Father's Day/ Daddy Birthday weekend (even if I have to work, Boooooo), so stay tuned for a more exciting (and hopefully less grumpy!) issue next week.
