The Weekly Peanut, Issue 3
Daphne takes Augmentin like a champ and even seems to think it's delicious. Friday night Daphne started puking/spitting up more than she has in months. I hoped it was just a reaction to the Augmentin. My mom & stepdad came for a visit on Saturday. Daphne started out the day in great spirits and even tried to help me load the dishwasher.
But it would appear as the day progressed that Daphne is finally over being sick. She was grumpy and crabby, wanted nothing to do with daddy. Even when I was holding her she would push and shove at me to put her down, then when I did she would cry harder. Not cute.
We wanted a fresh start for Sunday, especially since we would be heading up to the Oviedo Mall to find out the results of the Photogenic Baby contest that Daphne entered. For the cost of our donation, we ended up with some really great shots of the peanut, and the money goes to charity, so we didn't feel TOO much like pageant parents. We got Daphne all fancied up and stopped by TJ Maxx for Ian to pick up some stuff he needed. Daphne puked all over me, and herself. I feared this was a look at the day to come. At the mall she let Ian carry her around on his shoulders during the awards. Daphne won voter's choice in her age group and category (so thank you so much to everyone who donated/voted for her).
By the time we got home, Daphne was D-O-N-E. Total crabfest.
Monday was a cold morning and the day that marked 8 months since Daphne came into the world. She was in a good mood just long enough for me to take this picture. She pitched a fit when I dropped her off at day care. She is gnawing on her hand like crazy (can we please get this first tooth out?!).
Yesterday was more of the same PLUS her cough seemed louder and more bark-like. It struck me that since she'd been on the meds for the week I would hope to have seen an improvement by now. So I called the doc and we took her in this morning. The good news is that the ear infection is cleared up. The bad news is that her tear ducts are still super clogged (picking up new eye drops later) and may end up needing to have an opthalmologist look at them. Plus she has picked up a cold, which is leading to a lot of drainage which is triggering all the coughing and puking. Greeeeat. Poor kid. No wonder she's over it. Oh I almost forgot, when I was pumping at work yesterday I found an unwelcome visitor in my milk pump.
Yup. That's a spider IN MY MILK PUMP. I don't even know how this happened. He was alive, too. So this week is pretty much fired. Here's to better days.
