The Weekly Peanut, Issue 2
What a busy week! Girls day with Katy & Audrey was a roaring success on Saturday. We packed both girls into the car and headed down to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch.
Daphne was on her best behavior. Then we came home and had a little photo shoot (since both girls are the same size now, we just raided Daphne's wardrobe). We got a few cute shots, but neither little lady seemed to be particularly in the mood for photos, so we went back inside and enjoyed several episodes of Girls (ok, Katy and I enjoyed, Daphne and Audrey napped).
On Sunday we took a family day to Universal Islands of Adventure. This was Daphne's third trip to the parks and by far the most successful. We made a complete round trip of the park, Daphne was completely calm and happy in her jogging stroller (which we also LOVE). We did take her out for a few minutes and carried her around the Wizarding World of Harry Potter but that was more for our benefit than hers. She even tried her first frozen butter beer.
Monday night was our first night since having Daphne that Ian and I weren't there for bed time. I had purchased tickets to go see Muse at the Amway center for our anniversary last year, so Daphne got to spend the evening with Blair (the wonderful part time nanny I found on Care.com who helped me out the first few months at home). Daphne got a glowing review, but Blair mentioned the phlegmy cough that I'd just started to notice that day, so...
Monday I called the doctor's office to ask about the cough. They wanted her seen. We went almost a month without going to the doctor! Oh, well. Turns out the peanut has her first ear infection, which spread to her eyes and throat. So she's back on Augmentin for 10 days. She's being a real champ about the whole thing, though, and slept great last night and is in mostly good spirits.
The really really great news on the medical front? Daphne is now 1 week Zantac-free. With all the drama we went through with the reflux it feels amazing to know that we are just about done with all that. When they weighed her at the office she was 15 lbs 10 oz so she has also officially doubled her birth weight. Go, peanut, go!!
